PokerPro® and Carnival Congratulate
Chris Vaughn on Winning a Seat
to
The 2008 World Series of Poker |
11.21.07
On November 16, 2007, Carnival Cruise Lines hosted their 2nd annual World Series of Poker (WSOP) Satellite Tournament on their newest ship, the Carnival Freedom.
The winner of the tournament, Chris Vaughn, took home the grand prize: a $10,000 seat in the WSOP Main Event 2008 in Las Vegas, NV, plus $1,000 for travel expenses.
Congratulations, Chris!
Tournament recap:
After 4 days of $150 buy-in qualifying rounds on the ship’s PokerPro table, the field was set for the final table. The finals began quite cautiously with players tentative of raising or calling big raises as they did not want to see their tournament abruptly end. Over the course of the next hour, the table would see 5 people fall to 5 different people, so the chips were all relatively even. However, within the next twenty minutes, the table would be down to 3 people and the dominant chip leader had become Chris Vaughn. He dominated the final 2 remaining opponents and on an all-in move heads up, Chris was four to the nut heart flush while his opponent had made his straight on the turn. The river came with a final heart and a World Series of Poker seat was won!
